One Global Family Foundation Event: Remembering 9/11
As America gets set to mark the 15-year anniversary of the devastating 9/11 attacks, One Global Family Foundation (a special affiliate of UDC) is co-creating three inspiring, action-oriented events, “REMEMBERING 911” taking place in Orange County on Sunday, September 11th, 2016.
One Global Family Founder and UDC Board Member, Laura Lafoia Ava-Tesimale has traveled the world from Pacific islands, to South Asia, to Pakistan and India in humanitarian service to people of different cultures and faith traditions. Her work in earthquake-torn regions of Nepal, in flood impacted Himalayan mountains, and sinking Pacific islands is truly inspiring.
“I can honestly say that each and every journey has been an incredible experience; insightful, both heartbreaking and heart-opening, humbling and awe-inspiring to say the very least,” Lafoia Ava-Tesimale explains. ” I am truly grateful for the many opportunities to travel the world, to meet beautiful people of different cultures and faith traditions, and to be of service. This year’s travels have taken it all to a much deeper level for me.”

As for why the 9/11 events are so dear to her heart, she says: “My most recent visit to New York for sacred peace ceremonies was extremely emotional, deeply healing and HOPE-filled. Prayers were conducted on the 100th floor of the new One World Trade Center (aka Freedom Tower), and at the National 9/11 Memorial of the Twin Towers in Ground Zero, and inside the 9/11 Memorial Museum. It was breathtaking and surreal to see the transformation from devastation & darkness… to HOPE, BEAUTY & LIGHT!! The impact and importance of this experience and why One Global Family Foundation was birthed on 9/11/2001 has inspired the collaboration of my One Global Family Foundation AND my Councils of Interfaith & Indigenous Women-Youth, with our amazing sponsors and collaborative partners.”
Sponsorship opportunities, 9/11 benefit concert tickets, and to RSVP for the memorial program and leadership luncheon can all be accessed through this Eventbrite link: http://9-11events2016.eventbri te.com
